Meet Jamie of My Back Porch
My name is Jamie Orsburn. I love painting and restorning furniture. I want it to not be discarded, but enjoyed by another family or even used for another purpose all together. My daughter, Rachel, and I took one class on painting furniture and I was hooked. I have always loved doing crafty things, but this has become my passion. I do love, in my spare time, to read, to quilt, to scrapbook, to sew, and crochet. And my craft room is packed with all of my "stuff" so when I get the craft itch, I can just go in there and get right to work.
I hope you will be able to see my passion for restoring furniture and maybe find something here that you might like to own or learn how to make yourself! God Bless!!
I look at restoring furniture to be like my God and how he has reached down into my life, rescued me from my crazy world, and has been working ever so hard to restore me to be his daughter. Yes, I have to adjust my crown every once in a while since I am a daughter of the King! I try to give each piece I send out its own bible verse and write it somewhere on the piece. Maybe this will bless the new owners in ways I will never know.
I do enjoy finding unique, gently used furniture that is in need of some loving. My goal is to find a new purpose for it; restore it with color and stain; bringing new life to its details and making it ready to be loved again in a new way or for a new purpose. I am constantly learning and discovering new techniques and finishes to bring to you the most beautiful and unique piece of furniture. There will be no other just like it, It will be truly a one-of-a-kind piece.
